Headquartered just outside of Boston, we’re well versed in New England-style homes and historical renovations but our expertise covers city to sea. From New York City to the idyllic shores of Cape Cod, Liz Caan & Co. creates highly cultivated spaces with ageless energy.
Over the past decade we’ve developed and continue to refine an eight step design process that yields beautiful results no matter the size of your project. Step two
Goals & Objectives
Determine the main programs/goals and uses for each room in the house to guide furniture layouts, functional details, and overall feeling.
Step three
Budget Development
Conceptualize the tone, vision and narrative, and develop a comprehensive budget.
Step four
Design
The first is the schematic phase where we work through the furniture layouts and lighting plans based off of our shared goals and objectives. The second is where we we bring the vision to life and use the narrative we developed as a guide to help keep us on track and to be sure that everything we select supports the clients needs and the architectural objectives . We work in close collaboration with the client and the architect as well as any subcontractors or artisans.
Step five
Design Sign-Off
We present the design, listen to feedback and make necessary adjustments.
Step six
Procurement:
We are getting pricing, putting fabrics and wall coverings on reserve and obtaining strike-offs, we are generating detailed drawings for cabinetmakers, window installers and generating an accurate Proposal for the client. We are visiting the job site.
Step seven
Production
During Production we are generating purchase orders, approving cuttings, approving finish samples, approving shop drawings and material strike offs, checking on workrooms and suppliers and tracking shipments
Step eight
Installation
The Ta – Dah Moment! We love seeing the excitement on the faces of our clients when they walk through their new home and see their story come to life.
