When the client was finally able to buy the home she’d been eyeing for 20 years, she enlisted the help of a local contractor that Liz and her team have worked with for years. This collaborative three-year labor of love included a complete gut job, reconfiguring the floorplan, and creating a cozy lakefront home that felt appropriate, casual and suitable for entertaining. Liz and her team sourced vintage and handmade items and enlisted local craftspeople to help create nooks, custom upholstery and furniture pieces that would help capture the essence of the house while avoiding obvious cliches. A  relatively meditative palette on the first floor was designed to reflect the natural landscape just outside the windows. The second floor came with a directive from the client, who asked for ”granny chic” in the master and guest bedrooms. Liz’s team scoured flea markets, antique dealers and small boutiques to make this cozy lake house feel like home.
